King Faisal won’t prioritise FA Cup – Godwin Ablordey.

King Faisal assistant coach Godwin Ablordey says his club is focused on overcoming the survival battle in the Ghana Premier League in spite of achieving a semifinal berth in the FA Cup.

The Insha Allah boys are two wins away from winning the FA Cup for the first time after stunning Aduana  Stars on penalties of the quarterfinals following an intense 0-0 draw after extra time.

Ablordey is however keen on securing a place in next season’s Ghana Premier League. According to him, unlike the Premier League, King Faisal would be eligible in the FA Cup even if they lose it this season.

“I’m not thinking about FA Cup. I’m thinking about the league because we have to stay in the league. FA Cup when you are out you can still play so we are just concentrating on the league so that we make sure we stay in the league. So this is our focus now. FA Cup, we are going to the semi-finals but it’s down. We are thinking of the league now,” he said after the game.

King Faisal would face any of Dreams FC, Sky FC, or Nsoatreman in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, they sit 10th in the league standings with points after 25 matches. They will host Dreams FC in their next league match on April 16.
